Linux CAN be made secure relative to Windows...
.... but you have to know exactly what you are doing. Let loose
as a general desktop OS is inviting wholesale mis-configuration,
and hence, wholesale insecurity. At least it has the security there
to configure though.

It's red pill time, so get your average staffer on OSX, relatively
secure with EASY configuration, like take it out of the box and
switch it on. Well would you know it, the firewall's on by default,
blocking everything.
No viruses. None. The OS makes the virus authors job harder, as
the user environment is hived off from the system, and a
password would be required for the virus to execute. Yes, it's
also a more obscure OS but that's a non-argument, as I am
getting the benefits NOW. If I kept wandering into an area of
town where I was constantly mugged, I'd stop going there.

OK, you can throw that blue pill away now, you won't be needing
that.
