Costs too much
Sure the OS itself is very cheap. However, we would have to re-code all of our internal applications, move accounting and some other departments to new apps, provided adaquate apps exists in the Linux world, re-work a lot of our web services, the list goes on and on.

However, our current predictions are that we will be facing most of the same costs to transition to .NET and Longhorn in 2006-2007. This is true at other companies I know of as well. There is a large market sitting out there waiting. Is the Linux community or Microsoft going to do a better job of selling them on the next step? To be honest, neither is doing too well right now.
