The worst is yet to come...
The analyst who was not authorized to take the data was fired though he's fighting it, a new security policy is in place, and McLendon an Duffy have quit or been transfered. Best of all, the data is back at the VA after being gone for two months, and with no signs of tampering. Now only one question remains...

How many ghosted copies of the drives were made during those two months?

The report puts the blame squarely on the people involved... where it belongs... but that's no consolation to the veterans whose personal information is still floating around out there. They, and everyone else, are waiting for the other shoe to drop.
