Another security hole found in Excel
Looks like Excel is trying to catch up with OpenOffice in security flaws wink

"In order for this attack to be carried out, a user must first open a malicious Excel document that is sent as an e-mail attachment or otherwise provided to them by an attacker," the spokesman said in an e-mail. "Opening the Excel document out of e-mail will prompt the user to be careful about opening the attachment."

So it has to be given to the user, and then they have to click ok past the warning then open it. Nope, this hole isn't going to go far. If history has shown anything, users read the warning then cancel out from opening it. Then they call the helpdesk and ask them if its ok.

The vulnerability affects only users of Japanese, Korean or Chinese language versions of Excel, the Microsoft spokesman said.

So again, no worries since it only affects a minority of people. And even then those people have to click past the warnings not to open it. All in all this shouldn't even be classified as a security hole since its extremely difficult to exploit.
