- If I work at a workplace with my HP laptop connected to the Internet...

then I will have to bring my router with me AND block HP's access to my laptop no matter what HP's doing... HP will never find a weakness in my laptop. There's no way HP will do that for good or worse, even if HP respects my privacy.
