Executable file danger
So everyone finally realised the danger caused by executable files. My god, they take control of your system, write to your hard disk and actually allow you to do real work as distinct from porn surfing, Web search and waiting for the latest Web 2 app not to work.

This has got to stop. From now on no programs should be allowed to execute on a computer. The Apple Mac and *nix machines have been viable boat anchors for years and it's about time for Windows machines to join them.

No more programs - they are just insecure!!!

And guess what I found, if you type a program name into an address bar on Windows Explorer or My computer it does the same thing - oh no!!!

OK sarcasm off.

So we now have the danger of actually running programs on your machine, if you type in that name - remember you have to have a shortcut called the appropriate name.

Get real - what will we have next - programs run when you click on a shortcut - SHOCk HORROR

Time to reflect that most computer work does NOT happen on the Net (despite what Web 2 spinners would have us believe) and most of us are happy running the rich client programs we have. They will pry my rich client apps from my cold dead hands.
