That isn't even close to being original. Frankly, it wasn't funny when some random OOO supporter did it, though at least he or she had a point. OOO's roots are in StarOffice/StarSuite 6 if memory serves, and though the two have evolved into increasingly different creatures, both support the ODF format that is now an industry standard. OOO is capable of opening and saving files in almost any major format you can think with one notable exception: PDF, though unlike Microsoft Orifice, er, Office, at least OOO will save documents into PDF format. For the reasoning behind that, ask Adobe. Don't ask Sun or the people currently running the show at OOO.
