Stay away from BlackICE Defender
BlackICE Defender is probably the worst firewall out there. Setup is OK but configuring it to catch intrusions results in false positives and alot of anoying pop up alerts. Also telling it what programs to allow and not allow requires a brain surgeon or rocket scientist.

As a Norton's user I agree it slows down the computer but as far as it's security in locking down my Windows machine it works as it's supposed to. I really enjoy the port blocking feature and steath blocking on my machines ports while I'm on the Internet. Even at it's default settings it protects my machine.
