Windows can be secure
I run Windows 2000 at work on a Novell Server. Use Groupwise for E-mail. GWAVA and Symantec anti virus software.

Have not been hit by a virus in four years.

Use Windows XP at home--two computers on cable network. Have hardware firewall, Norton Anti Virus. No viruses.

At work we use Netscape as primary browser and IE only when we have to. At home, both are used. Unknown attachments are not opened.

Updates are installed as needed.

Keeping your computers secure is much like keeping your car running. It takes a little maintenance.

Spam is a serious problem. I do not believe the amount of Spam would be any less if I was running open source.
