I'm going to defend Apple. GASP!!
To give Apple credit, this isn't a remote code execution vulnerability but a local privilege escalation issue. It does mean that social engineering tricks could be used to more easily gain complete control of the machine but this is hardly as bad as many of the attacks that Windows users face.

The malicious program takes advantage of a locally exploitable vulnerability in an operating system component called "launchd".
