Maybe some users pick what they like
and not pick by hype. Not evryone is some geek overzealous I hate Microsoft fanatic. Its always hilarious when I see new users find issues or bugs with Firefox and Firefox fanatics will act likeits no big deal and give them all these configurations or hacks to fix the problem. If this was IE you'd be screaming bloody murder and calling it crap. Well even without it you'd call it crap simply out of hate for MS.

Firefox is a good browser. IE is a good browser. Its all subjective.

The security arguments are null especially with the release of IE7 and the fact that Firefox user base is growing meaning more FF exploits.

Also its a little known dirty secret but there are more exploits for Firefox than IE. Its just that IE obviously has vastly more exposure and yes active x was a problem.
