Spyware suit hits Microsoft ; Happy July 4th

Today's front page story for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer is that Microsoft has been sued by a computer user over Genuine Advantage. The case will be a class action. Microsoft's defense is to be that the spyware was legal because there was no "malicious purpose". Contact Kamber & Associates in New York for more information.

After the Sony case it is appauling that Microsoft would do such a thing. Statutes including the Washington Consumer Protection Act and the California Unfair Competition Law in addition to anti-spyware statues appear violated.

Of course, Microsoft is doing little more that the Bush Administration.
