Heh, yeah, right. The stuff is already built into Windows, will they add code to all of the places where it already does this? I seriously doubt it.

"Microsoft's privacy reputation is not untarnished."

That's putting it very mildly. The truth is, they have no reputation at all for any consideration for privacy. They've broken pretty much every rule in that area. I'd say their reputation for privacy is destroyed, non-existant. Their software is synonymous with Big Brother. They take steps to appease the masses, but that's it, they really have not expessed any real concern for privacy at all.

And I think this is likely just another "appease the masses" measure, and will be forgotton when the WGA fiasco is forgoten.
