I'm no MS lover...I don't like MS....
But this car analogy is a lot of crap.

When did you last buy a perfect car that didn't have flaws?

Yes MS should be held responsible for producing an OS and apps that work the for what they were designed. And they do. The OS for one was designed badly and works badly. Job done.

The FUD about having to install Open Office from the command line in Linux is utter crap too. I'm not sure about RPM based distributions, but in Debian based systems such as Ubuntu you CAN install from the command line, which is MUCH easier than doing it the Windows way anyway.

But you CAN install it via the package manager, Synaptic. Open the package manager, select the package to be installed (Open Office), and click Apply. The OS then downloads the package and installs it.

The same is true of the command line method. "sudo apt-get open office install". It downloads the package and installs it. Done.

In Windows, open your other buggy app, IE, or you're smart, Firefox, goto the openoffice.org website, click on download, choose a mirror, click on download again, choose where you want to download it to, click ok, when it's downloaded, find the file on your system, double click the install file, or the setup file....you never know which, click ok... next... next... ok... yes.... etc... choose a path....cross your fingers.

Please don't tell me that installing software in Windows is easier than in Linux. It's just not true. Sorry, but if you don't know how to do it, that's not Linux' fault.
