they should be yelling INCOMING!!
Like I've said in many previous posts this is really no suprise, it just blolsters my previous talkbacks about the security holes they don't tell us about. But now I ask what about the ones they don't know about, is this just the begining of whats to come? Is corporate america and the public enduser looming on impending doom? Will M$ have a Homeland Security Terror alert color coding system to inform us of a possible attack before they figure out how to patch it? Is the future absence of Bill Gates a coincidence?

I can't answer these questions but I can tell you that when a company grabs 90% of consumer PCs and a huge part of the coporate world they need to be held responsible for the product they sell.

I've harped long on hard about M$ and their responsibility to the public, not just its customers. So much of what they do is embedded in our everyday life, if some of it was distrupted long enough life could become chaotic, disrupt it for a month or longer and we're talking anarchy.

The automotive industry finds a major problem it makes a recall, it doesn't happen often but then it does they fix it at their expense. If the car had as many problems as windows it would be called a lemon and money refunded.

Now I'm not saying that M$ should refund all that hard earned cash of ours but rather not finacially rape us on the front end. Its bad enough we have to sign our rights away to their bogus EULA but to pay $200 bucks for it is plain wrong.

There needs to be some legislation in the consumers favor for a change and I personally would welcome software responsibility and liabiltity laws. Don't get me wrong, lawyers are still up there on the list of people least liked in my book but only the government is big enough to put M$ in take responsibility for your action position.

I'm personally making a pledge to be M$ free by end of year no matter how it hurts or what I have to "relearn". Once M$ figures out whats going on and makes a better mousetrap I'll come back. In the mean time I'll force myself to use open office of somesort on x-windows with a BSD or a Linux distro.

The time is ripe for transition.
