You need a hobby other than ZD net
It is called beta software. If you wrote a significant amount of code on any sort of deadline you would not be asking such stupid questions. Bugs happen. EVERYONE debugs and all software has bugs. No software is bug free on first release... except "Hello World".

And since you copy and paste I thought I would do the same:
================
And BTW, I hate to break it to you but MS is not the only origination that has software with vulnerabilities. They just get more press when it happens. Sure they have had a lot of vulnerabilities as of late, but to listen to you and the yellow journalists of the ZD Net "News" Alerts, it sounds like MS is the *only* origination who has security issues with their software.

Take a look at the latest security updates from SecurityFocus http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/ and SecuritySpace http://www.securityspace.com/smysecure/last30.html and you will see that there a plenty of serious security issues with a LOT of software. And a lot of it are OSS and *nix/*nux related. There is plenty of software with security problems but the only ones you hear about from ZD net are the MS related ones.
