Sorry, but I said all that, in one way or another
I want you to read what I saisd in my post again because if you do actually read it your going to notice a few things. For one, here is one of your objections;
?A criminal wants to hit the easiest target, and this is Windows.?

I actually said as much as that in my post, in relation to why hackers do not bother to attempt making viruses for Linux;
??it is possible, just far more difficult, and given the limited profile of Linux on the web it?s just not worth the effort to get involved in the difficult task that?s going to yield very limited results at best.?

You also offer up this observation seemingly as if I was proposing something different;
?Windows is, from what I see, and know, the worst coded, most of the major Windows software falls in this category, thereby the easiest to hack.?

I did say Windows has coding issues that inherently lead to security problems;
??the result, the trade off for such ease of use and high utility is a great level of complexity that open more security risks that are not readily ascertainable when a product is in development.?

Although I hardly think that I would be able to maintain an argument that Windows products coding is ?the worst? in the way you seem to imply it. Your claim connotes the notion that Microsoft really is just plain sloppy or outright negligent in their coding. I am compelled to believe that they in fact code as well as anyone possibly could given the goals of the systems they are trying to produce. The public demand for Microsoft products to be used in simple straightforward ways in a wide variety of software environments lead to inherent security issues that cannot be sealed up tight like most open source software that typically runs in an environment not so deep in a whole multitude of often bizarre manifestations of third party software as XP must. Also any serious Linux user is prepared to work with their OS to a higher degree to get it to perform correctly, and the average user out there is just not ready to go the extra mile for a more secure OS when Windows will do almost anything with a few clicks. This is the type of OS Microsoft is trying to provide to the public, complete with massive backward compatibility as well as significant forward compatibility for future use. This leads to a system a little more wonky security wise then a Linux based OS.

While I totally agree that anyone who feels this is an incredibly stupid way to create an OS is free to their opinion but; its what the public not only wants, but to a large degree needs. I have seen that over and over with my own eyes, far too many out there would just have to give up PC use if they had to work with Linux permanently. I know a few who are even befuddled over XP, so Linux is definitely out for them.

But lets keep it real also, because XP is so easy to use most people now understand the need for antivirus, anti spyware and firewalls and all are available for free and actually work well enough that it has got to the point where security isn?t even an issue for most Windows users. I have to laugh because we all sit around here screaming bloody blue murder about the latest security risk while most the world could care less it has so little or no effect on their own computer usage.
