Your questions are childish and yet very old.
You?re kidding me right? The question, ?Why is it, so incredibly hard for MS to completely patch? one of the ?old? stupid questions people used to ask when they really just didn?t get it. This is like one of the old trick questions that sounds great if your trying to make Microsoft look bad, but in truth it?s a silly question little kids would ask.

You might as well ask ?why can?t the auto manufacturers make a car that will not break?, and in truth, I guess you can, in the respect that if a car never gets exposed to the elements, or gets any wear and tear any car would never break. I guess if I was out to get FORD and I was not very bright about things I could say something like ?sooner or later every Ford seems to break down, Ive never heard of a Ford that never ever broke down? why cant they just build a car that stays running???

The comparison with an OS or program like Excel, shows the same stupidity in a similar and related question is obvious. Even Linux users give the evidence for it every day on these message boards. There is wear and tear on an XP OS and any number of widely used programs because hackers are constantly at work trying to break into those programs and are causing the wear and tear.

Its right about hear that a dummy would jump in and start claiming that the reason there are no Linux viruses running rampant is because you cant make one. That?s not true, and sensible persons also will admit it is possible, just far more difficult, and given the limited profile of Linux on the web it?s just not worth the effort to get involved in the difficult task that?s going to yield very limited results at best.

The fact is that most popular software (read proprietary) is designed in such a way that it will be highly flexible and compatible across a wide variety of software environments and in the result, the trade off for such ease of use and high utility is a great level of complexity that open more security risks that are not readily ascertainable when a product is in development. Given the high motivation of hackers to cause the wear and tear on these popular and highly compatible products (read non Linux) the security risks are frequently exposed if the product is around long enough, and most popular forms of software are.

So stop asking stupid questions, the trade off in security is inevitable and the public for the most part has decided its worth it as the vast majority suffer no security issues with Microsoft products anyway. Get over it and move on. It?s the way things work.
