Nut Case ?
Very much the M$ nutshell !

"Functionality" Widgets flooded on the markets, with low or little
consideration, maybe partying the Firewall \ anti spam makers from the start.
Creating the foundation for, to many parts, essentially non needed product lines.

By the way........
"Firewall", a very stupid name, it's no wall, as drawing computing resources
while calculating all possible 3'rd party unauthorized interference,
together with the anti spam produces, brings todays 2Ghz plus machines
to a level where, I for one instance recently started to use an "old"
Intel 486, "almost no Windows left" laptop at ~ same productivity rate
in word processing and technical calculations, with the bundled in advantage
of not containing any distracting "functionality", that really enhanced my
personal performance.

Just to hope that the comics oriented software, and their, seemingly
"total lack of computer knowledge" filthy rich supporters become null and void
when it comes to influence on technology development.
