Does this actually infect the user's machine, or is this just something that stays on the Yahoo website?

I saw it in my inbox, so I updated my antivirus and am running a scan just in case.


"'The worm is taking a pretty novel approach,' said Dean Turner, senior manager of Symantec Security Response. 'It takes advantage of a JavaScript vulnerability, so the user doesn't even have to click on an attachment to get infected.'"

This is NOT novel. BubbleBoy worked the same way, but for Outlook (and Microsoft's STUPID idea of integrating scripting abilities into their email client) instead. Looks like Dean Turner have a pretty short memory.
