I agree. Many tout the "support" provided by the open source "community", but in my experience this is not the case. My questions, posted on a few Linux newsgroups that seemed to be very active, were simply ignored.

Why? I suspect it may have been because I commented that I was running Linux through VMware (for Windows). All but one of the questions had nothing to do with issues related to VMware.. so it seems some in the OSS "community" consider anyone who doesn't worship Stallman as a god as heathens to be punished, or at least ignored..

The posts are about a month old now, and I'll bet if I checked on the newsgroups today, there would still be no reply. (Can't confirm this at this moment because I don't have access to the newsgroups from my current location).
