Sure - Buy All Your Fire Insurance From Arsonists!

You have got to love the wanton opportunism of the Microsoft crime organization. Build an operating system that is impossible to secure and then sell "insurance" to keep it from going up in flames!

It's a lot like living in an apartment building owned by an arsonist. The pitch: Shame if you have a fire on both stairways at the same time. It would really, really suck to be incinerated in your own home, wouldn't it, chosing between slow excruciating death or a quick jump to your death from the living room window? Hey, for a few bucks more we may be able to make sure you're not forced to have to make that choice.

Hopefully, Dell, Gateway, HP and the rest can agree on a standard distribution of Linux or BSD so the rest of us don't have to live in buildings owned and operated by cackling, fiendish arsonists.

Most likely, though, this will fail like Microsoft Anti-Virus failed way, way back. Microsoft first issued its AV produce with DOS 6, and finally for Windows 3.11 before scrapping it altogether. The geniuses at Microsoft had to endure the humiliation of having the Windows AV product actually ID the Windows 95 upgrade as a virus. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of guys!
