Disturbing Reality
The TRUE disturbing reality is making an analogy of accidental product failure (ie: Firestone tires) to terrorist or computer attacks; which are done NOT on accident, but by a person of their own free will. This is regardless of the manufacturer's stance behind their product, of course. A valid argument would be needed here. Software does not hack itself. "Computers don't hack computers, People hack computers!" shall be their rallying cry.
A software product (while it should provide security) will not ever be fully secure (especially a MS product). Yet to attribute the willful attacks by persons upon said product (or lives) does not elevate the attacker to the status of savior in the search for its ultimate security.

Simple Summation (without sarcasm/humor):
People who hack into systems and cause damage are not heroes for showing security holes. People who find a hole, do nothing to that system, then notify the company/Mfgr./etc. about it ARE.

P.S. - I thought the current discussion (not the article) was regarding hackers.
