Not strong enough .. wrong approach
The only approach that will work is to identify
the hackers individually, and deal with them
in a courtroom. I think offering a BOUNTY on
their heads is the best way. I would certainly
contribute to a NATIONAL BOUNTY FUND supporting
awards to BOUNTY HUNTERS who were successful
in bringing these bastards to justice. Also, I
am fairly sure that much of this hacking is
done as a test with more vicious goals in mind.
I think hacking is a threat to National Security
and our information based economy. I think that
we need BOUNTY HUNTERS as a part of our Armed
Services, and we need to treat much of this
as an open act of war. I think those who post
hacker tools on the web should be treated as
criminals. And most of all, I think those who
use "commercial" trojans to saturate us with
ads for viagra and porn should be sued for
damages, and their property confiscated and
sold to cover the cost of prosecuting them.
