Remember the NSA phone snooping? When it became public knowledge, Der Bush immediately went on record as saying they were not snooping on average citizens, this was all just to catch "Al Quaeda."

Not more than a couple of days after that, ABC revealed that the feds had been snooping on THEIR phones, apparently because they were pissed at some of the stories ABC had broken and they wanted to identify news sources.

The first goal of power is to perpetuate itself. The prime use of the internet records will be to identify and pursue those perceived as enemies and critics of the administration.

Bet on it.
