I agree...CRAP!
Dito...without the exclamations...smiles...

But a key word was used in the reporting...it is the word "LOST"...excuse me please...excuse me...sirs...to who it may concern...but "LOST"?

It's not lost...someone has it!

It's not lost, and someone will use it...probably for monetary gain...because some Poindexter wasn't careful with what he shouldn't have taken in the first place...
(OK, just for conspiracy & fun's sake I have to ask..."Was it some bueracracy with a three or four letter name that stole the laptop" or just some neighborhood hoodlum want to be IT terrorist?)

Whether that "Lost" word came from the original report or from ZDNET...doesn't matter...

It's misleading, and makes the VA look like they do not back up their Data.

That should have stated that backed up data, which had been copied, had been breached, and then stolen from the one who committed the breach...

Sirs you mean...cloned information was stolen...not lost, or a copy of the original, copied to the laptop, was taken by the thieves when the laptop was stolen...

It's not lost...someone has it! It's backed up data...

Don't make it greater than it is, or less than it is...call it what it is...someone got out the front gate with something that wasn't theirs to take home, or anywhere else for that fact...

and I get to make a personall comment about it...smiles
