"Free alternatives are no good"?!
The average user has no idea that free alternatives exist. Most
people I deal with ask for a free copy of M$ Office whenever I
help them with an issue. My response is to provide them with
Open Office. I have worked with techs who would rather pull a
M$ Office license key off the net and illegally install software
than take fifteen minutes to educate a user on the viable
alternatives to software piracy. If more Certified IT's were held
responsible for pirated software installed on the machines they
support, I don't think they would risk their certifications to save
someone a few dollars.

Educate your users, don't perpetuate their ignorance.
