... if that "presidential memorandum" to conceal information was unlawful in the first place (meaning it would allow those companies to do something that violates an already existing law, or laws), then the companies are not in the right. that is what needs to be found out, if the president had the authority to do what he did. regardless of national security, not even the president is above the law. he must go through the established channels to gain certain authority, otherwise he is above the law and that is a dangerous place to position any man.
