Here's an option for handling these things
It seems that an increasing number of viruses rely on people opening executable attachments. The fact that people STILL do this is absolutely astounding.

So, how about email providers filter out ALL binary attachments until end-users pass a basic computer aptitude test. Ask them basic questions about computer security, like, should I open that emailed .exe that has pictures of a naked Anna Kournikova. If you fail once, you aren't allowed to take the test for at least a month.
