Not Trolling for Information
I do not know what he defines as trolling, but barring me having some direct relationship with a criminal or terrorist group, asking for all my call records is trolling for personal information. The thing is, you know when you find the tip there is likely as iceberg hidden below. What else have they been looking at? I keep hearing that he is only trying to protect us, well does he really think that the government of any country no matter how seemingly benign their motives can be given ultimate power and not become corrupt? If he is that naive then we are in worse danger from him that the terrorist. Government is kept limited because its nature is to control and direct. Wise nations put a firm limit on that nature with decelerations of inalienable rights, elections, free press and sunshine laws. As these things become limited the controls that keep governments in line breakdown. It is this fundamental ignorance on his part that most concerns me, he seriously does not seem to realize that even in the US that the government can become a danger to the nation and people it serves.
