Proving the error is still no excuse
even if his intent was to show how vulnerable the government network was. He had the intent to do it, that is the key word "intent". Stealing passwords and costing companies wasted hours on end and money to restore their network is a crime that must be punished for. This is almost as stupid as the TV station that broke into the military?s network to demonstrate how vulnerable their network was and later were arrested for it
