Vista Security Burdon on X86 Technology
As I understand Intel, Vista can be made as secure as Linux on X86 technology but the time and effort Intel put into Linux - its considerable open source contributions - can no longer be put into Vista with out compensation. Intel has fulfilled its implied warentee regarding hardware security through Linux on the X86 hardware and in the hardware itself on all the chips it now produces. The burdon of security is fully on Microsoft with Visa now.

My take is that cooler heads will eventually prevail and Microsoft will rework Vista for the new Intel multicore technology - make the code libraries thread safe - and the delay in Vista will be even further out than June of 2007 as predicted by Gartner. I mean Alchin and Balmer and Gates all likely want out. Their jobs can not be fun and with the stock price drops they aren't even making money. Why do it if it isn't fun and you arn't making money? Director's and Officers Insurance is about it.
