Only if you run AV
I'm not a big believer in AV since it is a reactive defense. I'm a bigger fan of proactive defenses and after spending $0 and 5 minutes post XP install (take away my admin privileges and install Firefox), I have enabled all the proactive defenses that I need to keep my machine safe. That 5 minutes is more than worth it to me to avoid paying Apple tax and to be able to run Windows programs without fiddling with emulation or needing to dual boot.
