A better question

OS X has been out for SIX years, and has a total of ZERO viruses.

A better question is: how many viruses has the superior security in OSX defended its users from? A bank in the North Pole may be able to say we've never had a break-in because "Bud", the 82 year old narcoleptic security guard is just so good at his job! If Bud has never had to stop a robber, chances are it isn't Bud keeping you safe.

Don't take this to mean that I think OSX will be flooded with virus infections as it gets more marketshare but you are kidding yourself if you don't think that it won't be targetted more. My XP machine has been targetted 140,000 times and not a single one has gotten through. That is the important statistic. I'm guessing OSX will be able to do the same but I believe you are focusing on the wrong number.
