A Just Punishment

I have thought for a long time that we need to do more to punish the hackers and make hacking an unattrictive activity. Something like they did in colonial times where the punishment was done in the public square.

My suggestion is to throw the hackers (and the phishers, and the other crooks) in jail for a long time, and point web cams into their cells. That way, every time someone is tempted to engage in these activities, they could first browse the various cams and see just what happens if you get caught.

Maybe the sight of these people languishing in prison cells for years would serve as a deterrent.
