My ISP provides 'email security' for $2/month but my PC-resident NAV caught two email messages with infected .zip attachments. They were deleted automatically by NAV and subsequent scans detected no threats in my computer.
The ISP tech staff tell me that the files were 'damaged' or their software wouldn't have let the infected email get to my PC.
I think they're shining me on or don't know what they're talking about.
Either way, NAV caught something that may have been beyond the ISP's capability.
Should I continue to pay the ISP the extra dough for coverage that wasn't up to date or as effective as NAV?
Did NAV detect the same worm that's making the rounds? First time it was W32BeagleC, the second time it was W32BeagleJ. Both were found in .zip files attached to email messages.
