Given a choice of " Patching " or relying on Trend Internet Security, plus Zone Alarm Pro, plus AdAware, plus Spybot, I opt for the latter with the occasional cleanup rather than the ever-present annoyance of off-the-mark bungled patches.
When Symantec, whose products leave much to be desired, says MS doesn't know anything about security, it sounds like the pot calling the kettle black, but it's true and MS will never learn because their corporate philosophy won't permit it. They would have to do a from-the-beginning system design, which they don't know how to do, and further admit that they are basically incompetent, a public-relations taboo. When are the BIG users going to get together and put Linux in the forefront?
