It wasn't a patch
It was a whole new build of the 1.5 Branch.

BTW a new binary of Firefox is built every hour from the CVS trunk. You can get Firefox 2 and even 3 (Even though the most stable build is only 1.5 and the next stable build will be 1.8). The difference is FF 2 uses a frozen Gecko engine 1.8 while as FF 3 uses the unfrozen (Read still being actively developed) Gecko engine 1.9. All trunk builds are called Minefield now while as branch's are named differently.

BTW when they patch bugs they fix it in CVS and test it out on those who are grabbing the latest trunk and branch builds before freezing it and releasing to the general public.
