That is so untrue
It has proven itself time and time again to be a constant that open source is way more secure. The reason being that it is tested and tested in the real world with source code saying come hack me! This tends to create a tighter security schema. Only the delusional would think that their closed source code is more secure when it will reverse engineered and the code discovered anyway.
