Vista will finally come out in early 2008. It will consist of XP SP2 in a fancy new box.

Of course, by then XP SP3 will have come out on schedule. This will enable Microsoft to issue MSVista SP1 immediately. Since corporate IT departments refuse to adopt MS platforms until at least SP1, this will accelerate MSVista adoption.

In fact, since SP1 won't be delayed at all from the original schedule, corporate adoption will not be impacted at all by the delays up to that point.
