Exploits and viruses are not the same. And this is not FUD. Do you remember the WMF exploit? It hasn't been that long.

The exploit was released and malware pushers started using within hours to infect people's computers. Same thing happened with the more recent CreateTextRange exploit. This is the kind of thing SocketShield is designed to prevent.
It works, too. I tested it and blogged it here.
