I never said it was gospel for crying out loud.
I've seen the stats and there did appear to be a direct correlation. Active-X allows for a more programmable interface, perhaps at the expense of the user, but Firefox must use somekind of technology to allow 3rd party software to run in the browser's code space? No? Active-X has bad rep, but FF is young and exploits are aimed at MS and have been since before FF. Perhaps nobody has seen the reasoning or taken the time to put investment into exploiting FF yet? Is that possible? I don't know but tend to think maybe it could be so. Viruses, spyware, etc. are not written to morph and attack any given browser are they? So maybe the aim is truely against MS. I don't think FF has been significantly less vulnerable, based on number of patches required in it's young life and also the add-ins tend to be buggy and provide another attack vector, don't they?...lke activex?
