- I'd be willing to read any reasonable defence of MS's record on vulnerabilities but this isn't one of them. In the first place the correlation of the ratio of exploits to the ratio of implementations do NOT speak for themselves. There's a suggestion of a relationship (for the hopeful) but no real evidence. In the second place, there's an order of magnitude in difference in the degree of vulnerability of the two platforms. IE uses ActiveX--a gaping hole in the wall of defence; Firefox doesn't. Without that factor, the two products might be about equal on the vulnerability scale.
