that many windows users do infact take security for thier windows machines seriously and some ( not alot ) do infact lock down thier machines to keep them getting worms/viruses, hacked as well as keeping them from speading viruses should one or a few sneak past them.
How do I know this you ask? Because I am one of those so called Windows users your speaking of and I do take security for my machines very seriously. I run a home network with two machines running windows OS and I do all the patching and updating as well as keep an updated firewall and AV on both boxes and neither machine has never had a virus/worm/trojan and they have never been hacked or have ever spread a virus.
