Crash may equal security vulnerability
A crash is a side effect of a program defect. The fact that a crash occurs means the program tried to do something it shouldn't.

Often times, it is possible for clever people to figure out how to make that "something" into "something malicious" by injecting just the right data at just the right place.

As a software developer, personally I assume every crash is a security hole until otherwise proven.
