Maybe you're right
---Hmm, not exactly sure how you came to that conclusion based on what I wrote but you do tend to read into things whatever it is you want to see. Oh well.---

Perhaps it was when you said, "MS already has a reputation for being the only one to put out bad patches. Writing a commentary on that topic is hardly interesting". To me, that sounds like you've given up holding MS to any standard of quality. You want everyone to accept poor quality as a fact of life and to not make a fuss over it.

---Come now tic, I wouldn't call OSX mediocre!!! I think the iPod is an exceptional product too. Apple screwed up with this one patch, big deal. All OS companies screw up every once in a while, don't be so hard on Apple.---

Nor would I, but if we don't speak out, if we accept mediocrity the rare time it happens, we end up with a product like Windows, whose adherents have given up all hope of quality.

---f, as you seem to fear, they are somehow hurting Mac sales, they are actually protecting you from any possibility that all of OSX's zero-day, proof-of-concept vulnerabilities actually get turned into "in the wild exploits".---

Hmm, maybe George is a double agent from Cupertino.
