With the British ID Card System Databse open to Public Agencies, none of the data is secure. It's common knowledge that a little cash already buys data from the public agencies systems.
In effect, we are making key personal information much easier to get which will no doubt lead to even more ID theft because key personal information is more easily available.
The public will have no access to card and database readers, so no protection for the public and no way to easily detect look alike forgeries.
The UK Governments assurances to the UK public about the security and quality of the system will lead many vunerable people to accept any look alike ID cards as real and authentic, in short we may well see a dramatic increase in deception and ID related fraud, a lot more than before the issue of the card. - Posted by: wwwsupport Posted on: 04/20/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
