Its cousin, SPF, is effective.

I moved from a server that wasn't using SPF, to one that was - and the amount of spam I received dropped of drastically!

I assume it's because most of the spam out there comes from spoofed servers - so most of them get blocked.

Despite all the naysayers, I think it's effective.

And since those that do authenticate come from common places - well, they are easy to filter .

With SPF and some basic filtering, I get almost no spam.
