Not bashing it
but maybe the command line is needed, and in Zdnet, a Microsoft article is a Linux article is a Mac article is a thread that some will post their opinions if not their critiques. I'm critiquing making edits to fix a prob in one system and having to make edits in another system to fix a problem, maybe not the registry, but an important config file non the less, and a non booting system may need a live CD from the competition or a MS-DOS, or a OEM vendor rescue disk or failing hardware means you migrate what you can to another system or external enclosure or etc.
