The Progress and Freedom Foundation Study has been REBUTTED
In your article of this morning, you
mentioned a study by The Progress and Freedom Foundation that you say points
to the supposed failure of municipal broadband project.

This is an excerpt from the study naming the cities,

"The paper first reviews several previously published case studies: Glasgow,
Kentucky; Paragould, Arkansas; Negaunee, Michigan; Cedar Falls, Iowa; and, Tacoma,
Washington. These cases all involve municipal entry into the cable business. In each
case, the municipality was having trouble covering costs and achieving payback of its
investment."

This study has been rebutted. Someone actually went to the trouble of contacting the
cities and asked them about the supposed failure of their projects. You can read this
here, http://www.tricitybroadband.com/failures.htm.
